Bereft

Hope they've made it
to the great unknown
With love and care
that you've not shown

Comfort the sick
revel where you are
Call the bereaved
excuse: I'm so far

Let go you were
so you do the same
Reach out you will
so you'd remain sane

Free will, forked roads
you look back no more
Forlorn, forgave
but have not forsworn

Antimastectomy

photo: Sculpture of a nude woman (Hluboká nad Vltavou, CZ)
High grade mass the doctor said
  He would remove my left breast

    Told him off, perhaps he's wrong
      False alarm! I feel so strong!

      In five years will it grow back?
    Cancer cells, don't you attack

  Gamble I shall, much to pay
What do I owe, woe, dismay?

On the Fringe

An afternoon in the park
awaiting the fest to start;

Twenty degrees centigrade
balmy, in an old tree's shade;

Competing chirpy birds
with blaring indie verse;

Dogs in fours, some twos, digging
tails a-wag, twigs they're chasing;

Relaxed, breathing in deeply
letting out a sigh slowly;

From the past, you're set free
caring not what will be.

Prague Fringe 2007

The 6th Prague Fringe Festival starts Sunday, 27 May and runs until 3 June.

Divadlo Na Prádle is its main ticket till.

Wish I could be at Edinburgh's (5-27 August), too!

Daniel Unquiet

A wine not from Cana
  The drink he was offered
Behind dark clouds a star
  Cornered, can't be bothered

The sheep with no herder
  Declined to go under
Down in the lions' pit
  Rolled over and over
